No longer will you loose reception in tricky situations.
   Most of the time you can keep in your backpack 60CSx, and it will still track your movements.
   The other function in great demand for many years is the memory expansion, now in the form of a microSD card. Now you can load almost half of the United States in 512 microSD. Later, larger capacities are released, the microSD card allows you to be ready all the United States! It’s great!

   Two things you will add to the locker 60CS 60CSx, waking, and the passive tracking barometer. Apparently the new 60CSx no longer a standby mode, so that these two things do not work on if you turn it off.    Many people expect that this is the perfect GPS. I like it so far and I have no complaints. Most of the complaints you see are people comparing the features of the GPS 60CS. The issues that most people complain about are really minor.

   Icons: Ok new icons are like cartoons. None of them are hard to say what is the function that is the point of a symbol. It is a choice of artistic style of people like her, and some are not.

   No alarm: I have over 10 devices with a clock on them, I do not know where this feature is not to see such a big deal.

   Before I begin my post, I want the reader with information about my background, this review is to provide the appropriate context.

   This is the first GPS unit I’ve ever had. I am an avid hiker and I also like hiking. I am also a casual geocachers. I bought this GPS as a complement to the traditional map and compass. I use it primarily for Brand Managers, my position to follow while hiking, and navigate the forest roads in the Nicolet National Forest and Ottawa.

   Acquiring satellite / Locating position (5 / 5 stars): This unit has excellent sensitivity. It can acquire satellites and determine my position while in my house. The performance was also excellent under a dense canopy. In addition, a position achieved fairly quickly.

   Ease of use (3 / 5 stars): I am a gadget junkie and tech geek in general. I read that rarely need a manual to know how a piece of electronics. I must admit I had some problems with this GPS. The learning curve was a bit steeper than I expected, but after a few weekends of constant use, I managed to understand everything. The user interface is not intuitive, so it takes some time to learn to navigate the menus. I do not consider this a big problem for the unit. The user interface is identical to that of many other GPS devices, so experienced GPS users will likely encounter some problems operating them. New users should expect to spend a few hours on the ground with the unit and manual before feeling comfortable with the controls.

   FEATURES (4 / 5 stars): The unit is a variety of customization options. As a hiker and backpacker, I find the altimeter and compass very useful. In support of microSD cards is a great feature, and I have 2 of the topographic map of specialized maps for use with this device (the Great Lakes and East Coast Region). The microSD card support frees you from having to constantly connect the GPS to the computer for a new section of the map to load into the device. This is especially important for me, since I am a Mac user and Garmin does not support Mac OS X, I am (although I have said that they have a Mac OS X version of their card on the market end of year) have.    Earlier this summer, I made the leap and bought a portable GPS. I researched for several weeks.    I bought my Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx in June 2006, the Amazon, because they had the best price available ($ 100 less than anywhere else I could find). I also purchased and installed Garmin MapSource U.S. Topo software on my 60CSx. I recently returned from a canoe trip 10 days in the desert Boundary Waters Canoe Area, located in northern Minnesota, near the U.S. border. I paddled and carrying more than 100 miles, and used my Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx throughout the journey. It is beautiful! Some information:

   – Follow the I-function, lead to an accurate record, where I went. I have the sample rate of at least “often” do you fill the internal memory unit proven.    – Battery life is advertised 20 hours with 2 AA batteries. I Mart a set of 8 Energizer NiMH 2500mA for less than $ 10 at Wal. I am sure that all 8 have been fully charged before going, I had 2 batteries in the camera and 6 parts. I went home with a set of spare batteries fully used! I found one set of batteries 3-4 days on the water, held in the unit for 8-10 hours a day. I guess Garmin 20 hours of battery life estimate assumes standard AA batteries. (Note: If you use rechargeable NiMH batteries – and you should – you should go into the menu settings of your device and set for NiMH, as the factory setting is alkaline.)
