If you are looking for a Garmin GPS with basic functionality, you can check the nüvi 1300th
It works as advertised, but there are many features in the models found for GPS to others much less money. A traffic receiver by Garmin is available for $ 118, but read in other Garmin models that have received this receiver. A speed limit sign in this model is not available, but can be found on the 1350, 50 million more than that. A USB cable is to buy low, should be taken into consideration.
Bluetooth is another feature recommended. In the 1300 series, you must go to the 1370T model, Bluetooth and Traffic Receiver is included – for an additional $ 200 on the price of the 1300
It would be a reasonable solution 265WT another model like the Garmin, which includes: go (1) FM receiver (2) USB (3), Bluetooth, and (4) speed limit info. The 265WT is now at Amazon for $ 30 less than the 1300, but loaded with all these features and the latest mapping software.
Yes, it works like nüvi 1300, but is simply not the value of GPS, which can be found in other models.

I agree with previous reviewers: it is so cheap that Garmin does not include a USB cable to the device. However, I came with instructions (and was set up very easy, much easier than my Garmin nüvi 360 is one before) and I found my current position quickly and precisely.
There are significant improvements in I found so far, compared to the Garmin 360 – (1) The touchscreen responds very well and accurately (2) it seems more POIs (welfare, of course, there are still places that are not listed) (3) There are many additional features such as ecoRoute something with which you allow your fuel consumption and cost of travel 1 place to another title.
If the negative is the lack of accessories The biggest problem. Ironically, when you register your product to receive a 10% discount on accessories, you have the accessory USB cable, so their website can be found on the nüvi. This is not good for the number of people will register their Nuvi 1300, and I think that Garmin will address some of these solutions in the future (ie – a way to connect without connecting the nüvi to your computer). When I called Garmin, they promised me a USB cable for free, then maybe try something.
Overall great GPS with a few minor problems.

Ugh. I can not believe people are just so much noise about the omission of a USB cable for $ 3. I know the whole argument does $ 3 in both directions, but why in the world people make a big deal out of him is a mystery to me. I mean, you just use the dang thing, not the fact that you’ve probably already mentioned in the house! I think sometimes you need a reason to complain.
In any case, the position:
First, I 1300T, which is identical, except if includes traffic for life. That being said, I spent a month and this is one of the best if not the best GPS Vehicle Nav I met. I have several handheld devices from different names, but remaining faithful to the scope of this review, I only mention my experience with GPS vehicle equipment.
I have almost every brand of GPS to find the “perfect” You had to. So far, I was closest with a Nuvi 350 at its first in 05, I sold as I stupidly did not use it much as I had initially planned for release. At that time, the GPS Nav very strong and not as “great” as it is today. Since then I have units from Magellan, Cobra, FineDrive (ugh!), Whistler, TomTom, Mio (my favorite brand was based Tele Atlas) and Navigon. All had their positives and negatives, but never really “make sweet spot. Except for one small detail that gets the last in 1300.
I can not tell you how happy I am to return a device based Navtech clock. Although certainlny Tele Atlas has come a long way, it is not as accurate as Navtech. I have two of my units based Tele Atlas (Mio and TomTom) and made a series of comparisons between the 1300 and the other, the most accurate in 1300 than that. The Navigon has actually free updates of maps and operating the latest maps, but still can not compare.
The routing is also much better with this device alogarythim rest. With the exception of the nüvi 350, of course, which carries a lot like the 1300th That does not mean that there is no routing errors. GPSE all have faults, and this is no different. However, the strange ways much less than my previous devices.
And last but not least, the appearance. Good God this thing is beautiful! The map display is top notch and looks great from the leaves of which I have also always be on the road. I’m not really matter to some, but for those who love beautiful graphics, this device is for you!
I also propose a large extent for the 1300T or ponying up the search for add-on lifetime traffic Kit Socket 1300th is, if you live in an urban area and are affected by the traffic on your route. This saved me tons of time how people here do not seem to run every day by a single tunnel without crashing, I want to emphasize, however, not free life. Value There is a small unobtrusive ad (mostly hotels) in the bottom of the screen when the traffic on the menu. These are only displayed, if not moved and are quite small. Certainly not find anything about noise, but thought I would like to emphasize.
The only change I would like on this model (and the entire vehicle line Garmin), is the ability to better manage the detours. On my previous TomTom, Magellan, Garmin and Cobra, I could tell how far road and in some cases, select the route. Garmin offers a simple way round it was. Sometimes even back on the same street a few miles. This is not so much a problem with the traffic module, because it automatically routes the traffic. But it would be even nicer to have tweakability.

I already had the Garmin 260W. Was quite pleased with the performance. So when I saw the Nuvi with a traffic receiver, I thought it might be a good deal.
This piece has a lot of questions:
a) Sometimes, switches chance (even if it is connected). Sometimes not on two switches.
B) The touch screen is temperamental. Not active at certain times. I have to wait a bit and try again to go through the menu
c) Finally, the directions are so bad! He referred me to places where there is nothing. I mean nothing. He said that we arrived and I think when the hell I am. It has happened several times. When I encountered this problem, I called Garmin and updated my maps. Do not make a difference.
I intend to return and get a new GPS clock. I do not know if she even did some tests this Garmin unit. Just too many questions!

Firstly, I want to say that I had that experience with GPS units 3, such as. One of my friends was in the car about 4 years ago we used to drive from Milwaukee, WI Some in Chicago, IL Get pizza. The second was the one that came with a car that a friend and I had previously received in Natick, MA to MI T, Cambridge, MA. The third was present, the Garmin nüvi 1300th If you write to pass my story, to consider only the summary, go to the last paragraph.
I saw this product in a target, and I needed a GPS Milwaukee, WI arrive in Tucson, AZ. It is very difficult to choose a GPS after reading some comments here! [. . . ]. Let me say this: the sense of a GPS is brought to you from point A to point B. If you already know how to get from point A to point B, then you have no GPS (which means not to complain if it will take a different route than you’d gone). Before I made the trip from Milwaukee, WI Tucson, AZ, I tested this. I entered the address of the house to my wife the task and the task by my wife, my job (because we only have one car). It took my wife working perfectly, but it has not been able to find the parking lot for my work. I think it is because parking is not a road if it took me in the street next to my work and said: “Mike Joba is on the right side” (I did not hurt spelled “job”, she actually said “Job-ae,” was that funny).
I have confidence in the GPS enough for me to Tucson, AZ navigate. It is 29 hours from Milwaukee to Tucson, so I had a stopover hotel. I choose to be a Days Inn in Pratt, KS, which was removed about 14 hours to stop. GPS We did very well. We had no problem. He told us when to take trips, and where they go. It was a party in Iowa, where we had roads every 10 seconds as 5 times (switch to the right onto I-out, which left, turn right, turn right, turn left). I would be totally lost without GPS. The only thing I did not like is that the GPS led me to almost 54 all the way. I would have preferred the Interstate because it stops more gas / food. However, if I stop for gas or for the food, said: “Update” and return to me where I should go. I’ve never lost once.
According to Pratt, KS, was just in Tucson , AZ. Again, it took me by US-54. He was one while we were in Oklahoma when the GPS I had not thought about the U.S. 54 and said to myself, false self-direction. All I had to do was back in my goal, and we were ready to go. Then we have on the U.S. 70 in New Mexico. While we were in New Mexico is currently off. Yep , the screen went black and it would not again. My wife and I thought it had overheated. We left alone for 30 minutes, then it came again. Once we were in Arizona, on I-10 to the Tucson, she turned away again. But I knew where we went, because I grew up in Tucson. tour, also immediately after. In Arizona, j I checked the FAQ Garmin and it said to update the device if it is running., On the way, I was extremely vacillating to do, because some of the contributions. But I Update anyway. I also discovered that you change “promptly” to “shortest route”. Even under “Where” If you “points of interest,” you can spell the name a company (my wife was thirsty Burger King), and add it as a “Via Point”.
As However, after changing the parameter “shortest route” and hearing the travel advice of the family, we decided to go another way (Arizona, USA -> New Mexio -> Texas -> Oklahoma -> Missouri – -> Illinois -> , Wisconsin). I found a Hampton Inn in Clinton, Okla., to stay. The GPS was out we did not 5 heures 12 (or was it my armory). It took all that great. Then it was just a nice ride from Clinton to Milwaukee. The only thing that went wrong on this trip is that everything in St. Louis, we had to climb on the Interstate leading to Chicago. We were in the immediate vicinity of the Ark have been, and they told us to go to Martin Luther King Bridge. While on deck, we do not think it was on deck, so for the whole 2 minutes she repeated, “to street>
I’ve never had a GPS that actually speaks street names, but some of the posts I was supposed to be a horrible experience. The Text to Speech (TTS) has been excellent. Some of these words sounded strange, but it was funny hearing, he tries pronouse things. I’m not sure what the others in this function (perhaps expected perfect pronunciation of each word .. Come on, we do), but it worked very well. He speaks what is on the screen, the names you give to your favorites.
So, in summary, this GPS us from point A to point B. There were some problems, but the most serious have been resolved with a free upgrade. You can “waypoints” or different destinations to your itinerary. you can choose “promptly” or “shortest route” and it was great TTS. I have this GPS to anyone who needed to hike cross-country skiing recommends. So why can not I him give 5 stars is because it has some problems and I would not say that this “perfect” GPS. I would be happy to have 4th 9 stars. I do not know if it’s a perfect “GPS”, but it’s pretty close.
