Advantages

The nuvi 255, which in my review, is all you need. Do not spend more because you think you should talk with navigation or if you want to connect traffic to certain services or what they have to sell. This is a small, fast device that can be with you when you’re out of the car. And folks, that’s part of a portable GPS system can be with you, so it doesn’t get stolen.

Step by Step

The first time you calibrate the GPS system, which can take up to 10 minutes. Be patient, stand in a open field and not move the device. Leave overnight. After the initial installation, you’ll be walking on sunshine. Second, charging the device is simple. All you need is a standard USB cable for most electronics. The disadvantage is that it doesn’t shows a progress bar on the screen when loading is complete. Third, when you turn it on, you must have clear views of the sky on all sides. Otherwise it might not start properly. Also, if you are in a city with tall buildings, you can not sort the signal (i.e New York). Usually, the difficulty comes from initially turning it on. So, after that it’s great.

The keypad changes from upper to lower case after the first character of a name is entered. I wish there were an option for a QWERTY keyboard layout. and I hope Garmin would allow zip code entry in addition to City and State.
