The Garmin GPS nuvi series products are recognized as a leader when it comes to quality and usability for a wide range of functions that is easy to use for ordinary drivers. Design
In nuvi 2×5 models all sport a slim design that Garmin introduced with the 200 series last year, so it fits comfortably in your pocket or purse, and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which makes them suitable for navigation by car or foot. All models are useful tools, such as travel JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more.
Screen lock
Important information about the product: This unit is equipped with a “screen lock” feature. This is a standard feature on all of Garmin nüvi 2×5 and 7×5 units. If you push the “Power” button on the right side of the screen, it will lock and prevent inadvertent touches. When the screen lock function is activated, the screen becomes black and gray, after about 15 seconds to save power on the device. To unlock the screen, just slide the “Power” key to the center position. This feature is really intended to “Pedestrian” mode, so the user can put the device in his bag / purse, and quickly unlock the screen instead of the pump on / off continuously.
Navigation
Navigation is as easy as selecting “Where to” and type your question destination or “View Map”, where the color map in 2-D or 3-D. All the roadmap must be present along with 6 million points of interest throughout the United States.
One of the most impressive features for a budget navigation unit is a better turn-by-turn directions. The nüvi 265T can easily lead you to the goal by using text-to-speech technology, as street names called out so that you do not miss a trip with a focus on the road. The map smoothly keeps your position updated as you travel.
You will find no real advanced routing capabilities in this budget, but you get lifetime traffic reports and road construction that is present in your route. Once found, you can only use a touch-screen to view more information and tour routes.
Hands-Free Calling
In some places, it is illegal to use mobile phone during driving without hands-free kit. With Bluetooth capabilities, a microphone and speaker, you can use the nüvi to your Bluetooth phone for hands-free mobile phone calls. Simply dial the phone number with nüvi’s touch screen keypad to make calls to a compatible phone. To answer an incoming call, just click on the screen and speak in the microphone. Making and taking calls on the road has never been easier and safer. In addition, Garmin makes quick search numbers in your phone book or even taps for your mobile phone call history log.
