At first I was just around the 265W mark on the device and are confused on the screen during startup, but this device, the FM receiver in the power cables are installed and works exactly as advertised. The routing software is much more intelligent than the previous model that I have heard, the interface is improved and the text to speech for street names is a very nice addition. Hands-free phone also offers function properly.

The GPS is very popular, so I bought it. I refurbished phones, so I do not think it was a great thing to buy a refurbished GPS. I also remember now that someone with trouble free map has been updated. WARNING!
I try to at least 4-5 hours in total for this update. Long story short, after having transferred several times on the ice, fax an invoice with proof of purchase, it expects to upgrade my account and then download the update, clearing tons of space my computer for the update, I now have the update. I mean, it would be an additional 40 had been received, the new (I got it for $ 179). The device may be in order if you do not care about the free update. So much time and effort is not “free.”

You’ve got your position through superior to I ever could, thank you!
My renovated 265WT looks and works like new and the trains were as I expected. The only thing I wish he had the ability to save routes. But you can set and follow a route through the designation of a final destination, then again with the “Where” feature to add more locations, then for each choice option as an intermediate target, but you can not save the route for future use.
I came across two issues when you try to update the map (FREE) within 60 days after first use. As it was a refurbished unit, the first day of use for more than 60 days, I received the GPS so I was able to download the free update. A call to Garmin solved simply that – the customer contacts a service that has my account for free download. The second problem is that when I tried to install the updated map, I received a message indicating that it was not enough and he also refuses to install. Another call to Garmin, and an expert in software using remote support (after I gave him permission to take control of my computer) will take place from his place and have made changes to my GPS. Subsequently, the updated map will be successful. In both cases, the Garmin staff was very polite, very competent and very easy to understand.
Is it I also found Garmin MapSource program very useful. It can be downloaded free if you already have another program from Garmin, and if you’re not, you can first download and install the Garmin Training Center program and then download and install MapSource for free. Working in MapSource to create, view and edit waypoints and routes, and other functions and then use MapSource data for the transmission of GPS is much easier than trying to do directly on the GPS.
In addition to mapping, “Points of Interest feature allows you to unexpected places. After using the GPS “where” and “points of interest” in Germantown, Maryland area, I have to “look for food” for lunch. The first two addresses ended up as a residential address in developments town house. Out of curiosity, I learned that an open house by a neighbor on the other, not a vacant house, the door was. On my 3rd I experiment with the string “Subway” and address correctly. Obviously, points of interest include some of unreliable information. However, this is probably true for all Garmin GPS units.

The Garmin Nuvi 265WT 4th 3-Inch Portable GPS now works outside the box when it arrived.
1 Since it was a factory refurbished unit, I registered immediately and report attempts to update the maps for free. Could not know, so I contacted Garmin support e-mail clients, and noted in a few hours of my serial number “of satellite first acquired” more than two months before I bought it that the ‘free offer declared invalid. I e-mailed a copy of my Amazon. com overview of the order within 12 hours, I was able to download the update free card. (The old copy of the map was just as well on my limited use.)
2 The map is something that the upgrade will be scheduled, probably because he expected three or four hours, time is to take advantage. For some reason I can not do more than about 300 KB of speed from their download site, but the end result is an update apparently accurate map.
< ; br /> 3 controls the touch screen is essentially intuitive, but some decisions are blunted. For example, finding a resting place must go to “points of interest to” select “Automotive” then scroll through almost anything to make cars in connection with the search for something once described truck stops. To give a more “on” point, one must first understand the objective, then practice intevening Points of interest – if you enter the final destination, erase all destinations “precedent.” Do not even try to enter a home address of the road. This is not the right thing, if you park in the driveway and must be “where I am?” then save the address. Physical Addresses are reliable, predictable and tend to be where the houses are.
4 The display is appropriate given the small size. You can see about two miles further up “Zoom Out”, and the planned route is clearly visible. It is difficult to see a location different from the current position of the car but. The text is readable. Sometimes the GPS will be rotated to reduce glare, but basically it is visible in almost any light.
5 Navigation is what GPS is all about, and it navigates. If you miss a turn, “the woman said,” recalculating “and tells you how you find errors or if you deliberately take a different approach to correct, the revised route It makes sense if you visit. Spoken instructions are usually on time, but they do not go far to change lanes at intersections. A small criticism is that the “new” card is old enough places. The Natchez Trace was Thirty years ago, when Barnett Reservior was built relocated, but brought my car navigator of the paved road and the water not on the street was also a little later my car back from the trace of conduct on so-called “Old Trace” (which is usually a series of four meters deep ruts again) in the early 1800s. From time to say on other roads, the female voice would “recalculate” because I did not replace the old existing road surface due to new developments. This type of map updates seem to be somewhat random in nature.
6 The synthetic voice is very good. One would think that Garmin would hard code “Frontage Road”, an audible Turn left on ING Frungo. And the words are pronounced as Brook “Burke” (to name a few features dialect). Attention “Just because the voice said:” Turn on Main Street “not left means that it is safe to turn left, the driver must be extra vigilant not to create a false sense of security by thin voice that Questions of reassuring statements suicide sucked.
7th Remember “Blue Highways” by William Least Heat-Moon? The WT 265 offers two modes menu, faster and shorter. If we chose the “Quick” navigation mode, it is especially the highway. The “short” navigation mode, but an adventure, the famous “blue highways” is. For example, I program a trip to Knoxville, TN, Jackson, MS by “short” route. The fastest “” The Road I-75 to Chattanooga, then I-24 and I-59 to Birmingham and finally I-20 in Jackson. The shortest route I-75 to Chattanooga, I-24 I-59, then at the summit of Sand Mountain in Georgia and to follow us-75 at Sand Mountain all the way to Birmingham. Take I-20 from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa, then the new road and jogging followed by many federal roads and state of Alabama and Mississippi to Philadelphia, MS. From there, take the Natchez Trace to Jackson. Who would have thought? We saw three bottles of trees. (You should try to Nashville to Jackson.)
8th It works, it’s fun, it can be boring, but treat them with respect and you will always lead somewhere.
9 I recommend the “GAFM: Mini Friction Mount for Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 265T, 265WT, 270, 275T, 300, 310, 350 , 360, 370, 500, 550, 600, 610, 650, 660, 670, 680, 710, 750, 760, 770, 780, 755T, 765T, 775T, 785T, 850, 880, 855, 885T, 5000, StreetPilot C550, C580, i-series StreetPilot GPS. The mount for the windshield, which will probably work with the 265WT comes, but GAFM is very easy to transfer cars Betwen and in a console or glove compartment, where they were stationed to hide.

Ok. If I could 3e 5 stars I would but I can not 4 as it is!
My refurb unit initially had no tripod, so I took him back. But the replacement was sent immediately when I acknowledged my problem and I have only one day later. Since my original package arrived a day earlier, was actually a complete unit over time. Too bad I lost my own personal time returning incomplete.
In any case, but here’s my feeling on this device.
Advantages:
1) satellite lock was almost instantaneous use whenever I can. In most cases, it is not ready to go before he fully supported by my driveway Out.
I never thought I’d be happy with the speed as much as I do, but it is
2) Bluetooth works amazingly well with my iPhone. The caller on the phone I can not say, but say it is still uncertain. I like it loads my address book and my recent missed, received and dialed. Note, it takes about 2 minutes before the sync directory. (It always comes back at startup. However, the coupling is a single operation.
3) accuracy. 99% of the time it very carefully. It seems perfectly filled and crossing intersections. Sometimes it seems lost. I once had when he was plain wrong about my position several blocks off) (but in the end (after 5 minutes, self-correcting. I ignored him because he seemed to be an anomaly. ” br /> 4) Volume. If you do not resound with the music, it is appropriate. At highway speeds, I tend to my windows anyway. It is not as strong as the TomTom to a friend me, but it was sufficient for most conditions. I also found that the volume was available to 90%. The upper band is totally distorted, and I suggest that you avoid because they can wreak havoc on the loudspeaker.
Built 5) and exit. Depsite a mine refurb is a new product to be distinguished.
6) Unobtrusive Advertising. I’m barely conscious, even if the display is. I think it is, if I was on and the car adapter / traffic receiver plugged in.
7) The screen is visible in the vicinity of direct sunlight. Just look at least. Although I think that more information could be useful, it gives, I think they just want to take philisophically.
Cons:
I do not think they are the disadvantages drive. But maybe they are is important. Maybe not!
1) Traffic. This trial and error. I compare it with my iPhone and the two reports are inconsistent with their accuracy. It is true, about 60% of the time. I bought the T-model specifically because I wanted to support the market, and I’m not completely sold that this is accurate. But it is a problem as TMC Garmin question, so I guess that all units, regardless of the manufacturer are always the same information when using TMC for traffic. The fact that it is free. I hate being controlled, semi-obtain accurate information
2) Where am I? Sometimes I want to know what I’m on the road. More importantly, I wish that I’m on the road, so I know just the way through a complex exchange (I live in LA). You can where I am to see what the next street address where you are, but if you’re on a highway, it always shows the address below surface. He did not say where you are. A summary really bad. Note to indicate when you are en route to an address not present road above. However, once on the road, it shows the street turn to the next. I want to live to see both! There is a space to use it! Moving
3) between screens. I want to be able to return to my main board with a single button. If you have a POI or so deep, you get picked up from a screen at a time. It’s a bit boring, even if overall the screen is to respond adequately.
4) POI search. I am not happy with that. After the name of it slow, as already noted, is ridiculous. Within minutes it can take advantage of to find something. In addition, you can not see a space inside, when you view by category as often as you want is not indescribable until you are within a mile of two of them.
5) arrival time displayed on the main screen is pretty stupid because we all know it is probably very inaccurate, and if traffic is not variable, it will not make much much. So why not display the remaining distance, which is by default always changed).
6 I would appreciate if the compass is always visible on the main screen when on the track. It is currently only appears on the main screen if there is no target. (You can access a separate screen, but even then it is possible, then why not show it? “)
In general, I think it’s a good value. While Lane would help so much, I do not have to worry more, they have not, for me it’s worth $ 200! The interface changes I have said, are not really features, so I think they are open to criticism. You are already installed on your system, but are not easy at times, I feel they would still be presented to be reasonable, and that’s why they do it to the list of my disadvantages.
I recommend it? I think so.
Amazon your money tell you once again for 30 days, and since updated the map for Garmin 60 days and is guaranteed complete me, yes. I can not compare easily by it, except on the basis of their characteristics. What really matters is how did you like in the street. Bottom line, I like mine, and it would be desirable.
No device is perfect, but it is a choice, I am not satisfied!
