After much research I decided on this unit. Mainly because the Nuvi 265WT one of their new products, and it had the features I wanted. When you click on sites that have opinions on the point of view 265WT, most Nov/2008. I think this device has been released until about 6 months. Anyway, here are my thoughts on some key features of the 255W.
1 is windshield mount – works very well. The vacuum is very high and I have no doubt he will randomly break away from the windsheild. I love the swivel capabilites and allows you a perfect view no matter where you place it.
2 Satellite acquisition time – unbelievable! Once you make the aquistion first time you set. Now when I put it is usually less than 3 seconds to go. Awesome!
3 site plan and the screen – wonderful. The GPS unit was for me perfect directions, and re-route function works correctly. The screen is clear, bright and easy to navigate.
4 Free traffic alerts – works as described. I love this feature, and it is hardly any ad.
Seen 5th Bluetooth – Giddy Up! I sync my Motorola KZR1 in about 15 seconds. Easy to use and secure permits to talk on the phone much more fun when driving. I have had conversations with several people and they could not hear well. One thing is, if your phone has voice left, allowing you to do with the GPS device. In addition, all my contacts show (even with multiple phone # ‘s).
6 And finally. . . the internal speaker. If you researches the 265WT like me, you’ll be a lot of people complain that the speaker is too quiet to hear and see everything. Before I decide to buy the Nuvi 265WT model that I purchased the Nuvi 760 models Black Friday. The 760-model was at best ok. I’ve had about three weeks, until I realized that the upper right will react only after pressing the corner of at least five times. So I decided to return to the Garmin and I always thought that TomTom or Magellan. But then I saw the 265WT sale for $ 200 and I decided since I bought the 760 for $ 250, maybe I could save money and just give Garmin a last attempt. . . The nüvi 265WT far outweighs a 760 mile! The refresh rate on the 265WT is much better to hang on the satellite faster, the colors are bright in my opinion (and yes, they were in the same light!)
